"Leopard Moth's Cattleya"

Part of the Flower Of Life series, this painting features a Cattleya orchid plant painted in flesh tones resembling human anatomy. Both the caterpillar and the moth are Hypercompe Scribonia, also known as the Giant Leopard Moth or the Eyed Tiger Moth. As part of the Flower Of Life series which features an array of plant and human 'mash-ups', the line between plant and human is blurred and the flower becomes a sensual representation of the delicacy of the human soul and the insects represent the pervasiveness of the world around us.

"Phalaenopsis Orchid"

The original is a watercolor and color pencil study of orchids from reference pictures I took from the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.

"Bleeding Cymbidium"

The original is a 12x12 acrylic painting of orchids. Part of a series, "Flower of Life", each piece is meant to aesthetically represent vaginas in their many forms and colors, presented as different species of orchids.

"Prickly Pear Princess"

The current focus of my artwork is exploring and manipulating the mash-up of human and plant. The model here, Sheroya, appears to be growing Prickly Pear Cactus from her body. A metaphor for how beauty can be both mesmerizing and damaging, to both the beholder and the beheld.
